Shriya is Enjoying Life

Shriya Saran was in the city recently for the photo shoot of KS Ravikumar’s Jaggubhai.

Despite being busy with endorsement shoots and commercials, the pretty actress is juggling her dates to be a part of Kollywood, Bollywood and Hollywood films.

June was a hectic month for the Sivaji heroine, who travelled to Mexico for Vikram’s Kandasamy, and from there went to Bangkok to perform at the IIFA Awards where her Hindi film Mission Istanbul was being showcased. Shriya Saran is said to be a natural stage performer as she is a trained Kathak dancer.

“It was an honour to be present at IIFA in Bangkok along with the Bachchans, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena, and also perform there,” says Shriya. She had more reason to cheer when her Bangkok performance was the most-viewed video on You Tube.

On her return to India, rumour mills were working overtime that she has been chosen to play Kamal Haasan’s heroine in his forthcoming Marmayogi. Shriya dismisses them. “I don’t know how these rumours started, but to be honest Kamal sir has not approached me to do the film,” she says, “I don’t think even if they approach me now it will happen as my dates are already confirmed to other projects. However, I would love to do a film with Kamal Haasan some day.”

Jaggubhai is the emotional story of a father and daughter in which she plays Sharath Kumar’s daughter. “Ravikumar’s narration of the film impressed me a lot.

It’s a beautiful script with a lot of human emotions and the right commercial mix,” says Shriya, who seems all set to prove that she can perform provided she has a good script The actress is also looking forward to her role in Vetrimaran’s new film with Dhanush, which will be starting soon.

“I am told that Dhanush and I make a fine pair as our film Thiruvilayadal Aarambham was a runaway super hit,” she says. Meanwhile, she is all excited as three of her films Mission Istanbul, The Other End Of The Line and Kandasamy are getting ready for release in the next three months. “Life could not have been better. I’m going pretty well and there is nothing to crib about,” she says.
